This role involves supporting the design, deployment, and operation of a vast global Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The primary focus will be on developing and maintaining network fabric and systems, requiring a profound understanding of networking protocols combined with robust programming skills. Given OCI's extensive global network supporting millions of servers, this position demands expertise in managing a complex infrastructure comprising numerous network devices and diverse connectivity options.

Key responsibilities include collaborating with project managers to define milestones and deliverables. While standard procedures and tools will be utilized for network changes, there will be opportunities to develop new methodologies.

You will be instrumental in creating solutions that empower front-line support teams to effectively manage network failures. This role also involves mentoring junior engineers, contributing to network architecture and roadmap development, and participating in operational rotations.

Expect to provide critical break-fix support, serving as an escalation point for incident resolution and leading post-event root cause analysis. A significant aspect of the role involves developing scripts for task automation and coordinating with network monitoring services to gather telemetry and establish alert rules.

Building comprehensive dashboards to visualize network data across various layers and device roles will be essential for identifying issues and anomalies. You will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for software development projects focused on network automation and monitoring. Furthermore, close collaboration with network vendors and internal QA teams is expected to drive bug resolutions and qualify new firmware or operating system versions.

This position requires strong proficiency in network development and a deep understanding of networking at the protocol level, coupled with advanced programming skills. Experience with cloud-based network environments and global infrastructure is crucial.

The role demands the ability to develop solutions for network failure conditions and contribute to the design and roadmap of network architectures. Automation scripting skills are essential for streamlining routine tasks.

Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including network monitoring, automation services, and vendor technical teams, will be a regular part of the job. The ability to lead post-event analysis and drive bug resolutions is also important.
