This role supports the design, deployment, and operation of a large-scale global Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). You'll focus on network fabric and systems development, leveraging deep protocol-level networking knowledge and programming skills. This involves supporting a vast cloud network spanning hundreds of thousands of devices, millions of servers, and diverse connectivity.

Collaborate on project milestones and deliverables, developing and executing network changes. Create solutions to enhance front-line support for network failures and mentor junior engineers.

Participate in network architecture design and contribute to roadmap development. Engage in operational rotations and provide break-fix support, acting as an escalation point and leading root cause analysis.

Frequently develop scripts for task automation and coordinate with automation services for tooling integration. Work with network monitoring to gather telemetry, create alerts, and build dashboards for issue identification.

Serve as a subject matter expert for network automation and monitoring projects. Collaborate with vendors and QA teams to resolve bugs and qualify new firmware/operating systems.

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field is required, with a minimum of 5 years of Network Engineering experience. Alternatively, a Master's degree with 3 years of Network Engineering experience is acceptable.

Significant experience in a large ISP or cloud provider environment is essential. Prior experience in network operations and a strong understanding of protocols like MPLS, BGP/OSPF/IS-IS, TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, DNS, and DHCP are crucial.

Proficiency in scripting or automation, particularly with Python, is required, along with expertise in data center design. Experience with network monitoring, telemetry solutions, and network modeling/programming tools such as YANG, OpenConfig, and NETCONF is expected.

Candidates should demonstrate excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and influence product roadmap direction. Participation in an on-call rotation is also a requirement.
