This role supports the global Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) through the design, deployment, and operation of its network fabric and systems. It requires a deep understanding of networking protocols and strong programming skills within a vast, cloud-based network supporting millions of servers.

Key responsibilities include collaborating on project milestones and deliverables, developing and executing network changes using existing and new procedures. You will create solutions to empower front-line support teams during network failures, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to network solution architecture and roadmap development.

Participate in an on-call rotation and provide break-fix support, acting as an escalation point for event remediation and conducting post-event root cause analysis. Frequently develop scripts for task automation and coordinate with automation services for tooling integration.

Develop network monitoring alerts from telemetry data and build dashboards to identify network issues. Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for software development projects focused on network automation and monitoring. Collaborate with vendors and QA teams to resolve bugs and qualify new firmware/operating systems.

We seek candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field and over 5 years of Network Engineering experience, or a Master's degree with over 1 year of experience.

Experience in a large ISP or cloud provider environment is essential, with RDMA Networking experience being a significant advantage. Previous work in a network operations role is also required. A strong grasp of routing protocols like MPLS, BGP/OSPF/IS-IS, TCP, IPv4, IPv6, DNS, and DHCP is crucial.

Extensive experience with scripting or automation (Python preferred) and data center design is necessary, alongside proficiency in networking protocols such as TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, DHCP, and SSL. Familiarity with network monitoring, telemetry solutions, and network modeling/programming tools like YANG, OpenConfig, and NETCONF is expected.

Exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills are required, along with the ability to influence product roadmaps. Participation in an on-call rotation is mandatory.
