Spearhead the architectural design and development of scalable backend systems and microservices, selecting optimal technologies. Own full project lifecycle, from initial requirements to deployment, coordinating multiple work streams for timely delivery. Mentor and develop engineering talent, conduct performance reviews, and cultivate high-performing teams. Collaborate across product management, frontend, QA, DevOps, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into innovative technical solutions. Champion best practices in code quality, security, performance, and maintainability through rigorous code reviews and integrated testing. Proactively troubleshoot and resolve critical production issues, conducting root-cause analysis and implementing corrective actions. Actively participate in sprint planning, design discussions, and architectural decisions, skillfully balancing technical trade-offs for scalability and reliability. Manage project risks, dependencies, and stakeholder communications, ensuring transparency and proactively mitigating obstacles. Define and enforce stringent QA and testing standards, integrating automated and manual testing throughout the development lifecycle. Promote adoption of modern Agile/Scrum methodologies, DevOps practices including CI/CD and cloud deployment, and leverage emerging technologies where beneficial.

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is essential. We require a minimum of 10 years of hands-on software engineering experience with a proven history of developing intricate, distributed systems. Demonstrable expertise in a primary programming language such as Java, coupled with frameworks like Spring, and a profound understanding of the JDK/JVM and microservices architecture is critical. Deep knowledge of API development (REST, SOAP, GraphQL), robust database design (SQL/NoSQL), and proficiency with messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ) are expected. Familiarity with leading cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), container orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes), and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack) is required. Practical experience in QA/test automation, including frameworks like JUnit, Selenium, WebDriver, Cucumber, and their integration into CI/CD pipelines, is a must. A solid grasp of design patterns (SOLID, DDD, hexagonal), distributed architectures, and performance tuning methodologies is necessary. Exceptional communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence across various teams and functions, are vital. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, characterized by meticulous attention to detail and proactive risk management, are expected. Experience working within Agile development methodologies and utilizing tools such as JIRA is also required.
