Optum, a global health optimization organization, is seeking a Senior Manager for Technical Product Management. This pivotal role focuses on leading and scaling a portfolio of AI-enabled products within our technology division.

This position bridges business strategy, customer experience, data, and engineering, aiming to transform market insights into impactful, scalable products. The ideal candidate will be a strategic product leader capable of driving execution, influencing across diverse teams, and nurturing product management talent within a regulated healthcare setting.

Key responsibilities include leading and developing a team of technical product managers, assigning product ownership, and ensuring accountability for outcomes. You will own the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of AI/ML-enabled products, overseeing the entire product lifecycle from use case selection to adoption and value measurement.

This involves managing data readiness, model iteration, evaluation, human-in-the-loop design, and responsible AI practices in partnership with governance and compliance teams. Strategic product planning involves capturing customer voice, defining value propositions, and aligning initiatives with business objectives, while execution entails overseeing prioritization, feature decomposition, and collaboration with engineering teams for agile delivery.

The role requires 8+ years in Product Management, with substantial experience in technical or platform products, and 3+ years in direct people management, including hiring and career development.

Candidates should have 2+ years of experience supporting a healthcare payer environment and proven success delivering at least one AI or ML-enabled product into production. Strong experience working with engineering, data, and architecture teams, coupled with proficiency in Agile methodologies and product management tools (Aha, Rally, GitHub), is essential.
