This role is for a Senior Manager of Platform Software Engineering, leading teams to define strategic elements for middleware evolution that serves multiple consumer applications. You will be accountable for key outcomes such as performance, cost control, and reliability, and will be the escalation point for complex debugging and upgrade safety issues. A key aspect of this position involves driving significant cross-team improvements in observability, Service Level Objectives (SLOs), and resilience patterns. You will engage with various stakeholders both internally and externally to socialize migration plans and adoption strategies.

Lead multiple platform teams in standardizing middleware patterns and client libraries used across various consumer teams. Establish group-level guardrails for APIs/SDKs, deprecation strategies, and upgrade playbooks, while diligently tracking adoption and associated risks. Sponsor shared observability frameworks and capacity models, actively reviewing error-budget posture and implementing corrective actions.

Provide technical leadership and guidance in the design, testing, and optimization of software solutions. Oversee the development of new features and enhancements, ensuring alignment with design specifications. Conduct code and functional reviews to drive continuous improvement across projects. Lead debugging and troubleshooting efforts to resolve software issues across multiple components, and guide teams in implementing comprehensive software testing, quality assurance, logging, monitoring, and observability practices. Utilize analytical approaches for performance profiling and optimization.

Drive the design and development of software, systems, and services, acting as a role model for technical guidance and domain expertise in architectural decisions. Ensure adherence to architectural frameworks and internal development standards through periodic reviews. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align software architecture with business and customer priorities, implementing performance optimization and scalability strategies. Conduct technology research and evaluation for architectural enhancements.

Collaborate with stakeholders and external clients to understand customer issues and align solutions. Provide technical guidance and prioritize support for reported customer issues. Advocate for customer interests and suggest product enhancements based on feedback. Develop and execute policies to ensure customer satisfaction through timely issue resolution and effective communication. Manage the investigation and troubleshooting of complex product maintenance issues to ensure customer agreement on solutions.

Collaborate to establish, follow, and enforce documented security criteria, development best practices, and coding standards. Ensure clarity of operational objectives for adherence to acceptance criteria. Implement secure software development practices requiring information gathering and analysis to prevent security vulnerabilities.

Lead teams in performing periodic maintenance and testing operations, including upgrades and patching. Delegate assignments to implement and evolve standard operating procedures (SOPs) for development, driving improvements through automation, testing, and debugging to ensure service/product availability, health, support, and reliability.

Manage multiple medium- to large-scale projects or initiatives across teams, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and budgets are met. Provide direction on project work, setting priorities and aligning with business needs. Guide teams in adjusting plans to accommodate resource or timeline changes.

Foster cross-functional partnerships to align expectations and shared objectives. Coach team members to develop strategic relationships with business leaders, stakeholders, and external partners. Promote inclusivity by actively seeking and listening to diverse perspectives.

Provide direction to teams on addressing complex operational and technical issues. Guide teams in analyzing complex data to identify solutions and review unresolved or critical issues.
