Join the Global Communications & Public Affairs team as a Senior Manager of Corporate Communications for India. This role offers the opportunity to be the strategic architect of Google’s corporate narrative in a dynamic market. You will drive business impact by positioning Google’s innovations, preemptively mitigating reputational risks, and securing our long-term license to operate. Mobilize external partners, cultivate alliances with influential stakeholders, and empower a high-performing internal team. Partner closely with cross-functional leadership to turn communications strategy into a significant advantage for Google.

We are seeking talented communicators who can grasp complex issues and articulate them clearly through various mediums, including written content and spoken engagements. You will be instrumental in informing and educating users, advertisers, partners, and employees about Google's product benefits, company culture, and approach to significant public policy matters. If you are quick-witted, entrepreneurial, intellectually curious, and eager to innovate, this role is for you. Successful candidates will manage numerous projects under tight deadlines, demonstrating strong teamwork and cross-functional collaboration across PR, Communications, Marketing, and Product teams.

Responsibilities

Direct comprehensive issues management programs and expertly navigate crisis communications to safeguard Google's reputation. Engage proactively with community organizations, public interest groups, and other key opinion leaders to elevate Google's public image and integrate external perspectives. Lead the strategic development and execution of integrated communications plans, ensuring impactful messaging that accurately reflects Google's viewpoint. Oversee agency partners for critical initiatives, establishing clear strategies, defining objectives, and rigorously monitoring performance. Provide leadership, inspiration, and mentorship to team members, actively fostering their professional development.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience is required.

Possess 14 years of experience in public relations, media relations, or corporate communications.

Preferred qualifications include 3 years of experience in people management, supervision, or team leadership. Expertise in communications principles, crisis management, utilizing both traditional and emerging channels, and understanding broader communications trends is essential. The ability to advise executives and manage complex internal and external stakeholder relationships is crucial. Candidates should demonstrate the capacity to remain calm and effective in fast-paced environments, adapting quickly and escalating issues appropriately. Building strong relationships with executives and leadership teams is a key requirement.
