This role is key to informing and educating users, advertisers, partners, and employees about Google's products, culture, and public policy stances. Success requires being quick-witted, entrepreneurial, intellectually curious, and adaptable to fast-paced environments.
Direct issue management and crisis communications to safeguard Google's reputation. Engage with community organizations and public interest groups to enhance public image. Develop and execute integrated communications plans with impactful messaging. Manage agency partners, setting strategy and monitoring performance. Lead, mentor, and foster the development of team members.
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience is required. Possess 14 years of experience in public relations, media relations, or communications.
Preferred qualifications include 3 years in people management or team leadership. Experience with communications principles, crisis management, and emerging channels is beneficial. Demonstrated ability to advise executives and manage stakeholder relationships is valued. Capability to remain calm and effective in fast-moving situations and adapt quickly is essential. Strong ability to build relationships with executives and leadership teams.
