Join NVIDIA's Infrastructure team as a Senior Linux Administrator and contribute to optimizing the compute infrastructure that powers next-generation silicon design and AI workloads. This role offers the opportunity to ensure the operational health, efficiency, and observability of a vast Linux compute farm supporting NVIDIA's VLSI design teams.
You will be instrumental in understanding and improving the resource utilization and performance of our compute resources, making a direct impact on engineering productivity and project timelines.
Take ownership of the operational health, efficiency, and observability of a large-scale Linux compute farm. Deeply profile and debug system-level performance issues, including kernel, filesystem, memory, and I/O behavior, translating findings into actionable solutions.
Drive compute efficiency by optimizing memory usage, reducing CPU waste, and improving resource request prediction models. Develop and maintain the farm's observability layer, establishing telemetry pipelines, metrics, and dashboards for capacity, utilization, and job behavior monitoring. Manage license monitoring and expiry alerts for the EDA tool estate.
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience is required. Minimum of 8 years of experience in Linux systems administration or large-scale infrastructure operations is essential.
We seek deep expertise in Linux systems and kernel-level operations, proficiency with tools like perf, eBPF/bpftrace, strace, cgroups, and NUMA. Demonstrated experience in diagnosing and resolving performance issues on multi-user compute systems, along with strong troubleshooting skills for NFS and distributed filesystems, is crucial.
Experience building observability solutions using time-series metrics, log, and telemetry pipelines is expected. Proficiency in Python for analysis and automation is a must. Familiarity with batch schedulers (e.g., LSF, Slurm) and job resource accounting is beneficial. A background in Semiconductor/EDA or HPC is considered a plus.
