Spearhead and oversee power and clean energy procurement efforts in India, ensuring cost-effective and reliable energy sources for Google's data centers and operations.
Initiate, lead, and actively participate in negotiation and commercial structuring of deals for data center energy contracts, including supply agreements, interconnection agreements, and power purchase agreements.
Contribute to energy regulatory interventions and policy advocacy initiatives in India to secure necessary power and energy for Google's data centers and mitigate operational risks.
Cultivate and manage strategic relationships with government bodies, regulators, utility providers, energy developers, and grid operators to foster market growth and advance energy-related business priorities in India.
Participate in significant strategic projects concerning data center energy and assess prospective energy supply and infrastructure investment opportunities.
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience is required.
Demonstrated experience of at least 10 years in leading negotiation processes or business development initiatives.
Experience in cultivating and maintaining robust relationships with a variety of government and private sector entities within the Indian energy landscape, such as energy developers, suppliers, and utilities, is highly desirable.
A proven ability to manage and execute commercial transactions collaboratively with cross-functional teams within large multinational corporations.
A solid understanding of energy asset development, financing, and operations, coupled with expertise in creating and implementing complex energy supply agreements, Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), and related contracts.
Comprehensive knowledge of India's power generation (including conventional and renewable sources), grid infrastructure, regulatory frameworks, energy market dynamics, and energy policy is essential.
