This role demands a blend of deep market knowledge in energy and regulatory landscapes, coupled with keen business acumen. You'll collaborate with project teams, manage vendor relationships, and present strategic recommendations to leadership, with the potential to significantly impact operational costs and business growth.
Lead impactful energy regulatory interventions and policy advocacy in India to ensure power supply for Google data centers and minimize operational risks. Drive energy initiatives that align with Google's investments and benefit local communities. Spearhead power and clean energy procurement strategies in India, focusing on reliability, cost-effectiveness, and carbon-free energy for our data centers. Contribute to and lead the negotiation and commercial structuring of data center energy agreements, including supply, interconnection, and power purchase agreements. Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with government bodies, regulators, utilities, energy developers, and grid operators to foster market growth and advance energy-related business objectives in India.
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience is required. Possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in leading negotiations or business development.
Preferred qualifications include experience in leading regulatory, public affairs, or policy development programs within the energy industry. Demonstrated success in managing relationships and executing critical negotiations for infrastructure projects is highly valued. Expertise in power procurement, infrastructure project commercialization, and a proven track record in managing and executing commercial transactions like energy supply and power purchase agreements are advantageous.
