Join Rippling's Web Infrastructure team, a pivotal group responsible for the foundational frontend systems that empower nearly 1,000 engineers across 50+ product teams. This team drives improvements in how engineers write, build, and ship code, from local development and CLI tools to deployment strategies. Your contributions will directly enhance the speed and efficiency of all product development at Rippling.

Lead critical workstreams to evolve Rippling's frontend from a monolithic structure to a federated architecture, enabling independent product team development. Enhance and maintain the core web CLI and build infrastructure, focusing on reliability, local development speed, and developer experience. Optimize build processes and artifact delivery across all environments, using data to identify and resolve bottlenecks. Develop and deploy internal frontend tooling and libraries that boost engineering velocity, owning the process from design to adoption. Act as the primary expert on frontend build systems, establishing best practices and mentoring other engineers through code reviews. Build infrastructure to support AI agents and engineers in authoring, validating, and shipping production-quality code reliably. Take full operational ownership of team systems, including on-call rotations and incident resolution, ensuring system health.

A minimum of 6 years in software engineering, with a strong emphasis on frontend workflows, build systems, or developer tooling within large-scale production environments. Demonstrate deep proficiency in JavaScript (ESNext), TypeScript, and Node.js, coupled with practical experience in building CLI tools and production-ready developer-facing tooling. Possess working knowledge of modern bundlers like Webpack or Vite, including expertise in areas such as Module Federation, code splitting, and build performance optimization. Experience in instrumenting build telemetry to define performance baselines, detect regressions, and use data for infrastructure enhancements is essential. Familiarity with large-scale frontend monorepo architectures and their inherent build and dependency challenges is required. Strong collaboration and communication skills are vital for balancing platform needs with product team flexibility and driving alignment across the engineering organization. You should be comfortable with ambiguity, possess a high degree of ownership, be self-directed, adaptable, and capable of driving tasks to completion. Hands-on experience building or designing infrastructure for AI-assisted development workflows, including tools for AI agents to author and ship code reliably at scale, is highly valued.
