As a Forward Deployed AI Engineer, you will be instrumental in building the next generation of AI solutions within our rapidly expanding engineering team. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with clients across various BCG regions and industries, addressing critical areas such as climate change.

You will design, build, and deploy innovative solutions, contributing to thought leadership in scientific communities through papers and presentations at conferences on behalf of BCG X.

Key activities include applying software development best practices for robust and maintainable code, actively participating in the entire software development lifecycle, and guiding non-technical teams in software development methodologies. You will also focus on optimizing algorithm efficiency and software design, thriving in a fast-paced, client-facing environment, and sharing innovative design ideas within collaborative teams. A natural aptitude for problem-solving and intellectual curiosity across diverse industries is essential.

We are looking for candidates with a degree in Computer Science or a related field, possessing 3-8 years of experience in software development. Prior consulting experience or significant leadership roles are highly valued.

Essential skills include proficiency in software development, experience with global and remote agile teams, and strong programming skills in Python, C++, or Scala. Familiarity with managing relational, non-relational, and streaming data structures, along with an understanding of parallel computing, is required.

Experience with AI agents, Large Language Models (LLMs), and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is crucial. Nice-to-have qualifications include experience building generative AI tools, full-stack development expertise (GraphQL, React, JavaScript, TypeScript), DevOps practices (Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Terraform), and data tools like SQL, Spark, Hadoop, Pandas, and Scikit-learn.
