Develop scalable and reliable backend systems essential for benefits enrollment, eligibility, carrier integrations, and complex business workflows.

Drive architectural decisions for distributed systems, APIs, asynchronous processing, data consistency, and fault tolerance. Collaborate closely with Product, Design, Platform, and senior engineering leaders to define roadmaps and translate business challenges into scalable solutions. Maintain deep technical involvement through system design reviews, architectural discussions, code reviews, and troubleshooting production issues. Lead end-to-end product development, balancing speed, quality, and scalability. Foster a culture of strong ownership, accountability, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.

A minimum of 12 to 17 years of software engineering experience is required, with at least 5 years in engineering management. A strong technical foundation in backend engineering, distributed systems, system design, and scalable architecture is essential. Demonstrated success in building and scaling complex, customer-facing products from inception through production is crucial.

Expertise in coding and architecture using languages such as Java, Python, Go, C++, Scala, or equivalents is necessary. You should have a proven ability to lead high-performing teams, develop senior engineers, and uphold a high technical standard. A strong product sense, enabling the translation of customer and business needs into technical strategy, is key. Experience in driving engineering roadmaps, setting priorities, managing dependencies, and delivering complex initiatives is expected.

Candidates must be adept at navigating ambiguous environments, making sound technical trade-offs, and influencing decisions across multiple teams.
