Join our team as a Senior Engineer - Systems, specializing in Application Support at the L3 level. This role is pivotal in ensuring the stability and performance of our critical systems. You will be instrumental in managing incidents, performing advanced diagnostics, and driving continuous improvement in our operational practices.

We are seeking a proactive individual to own incident resolution, conduct root cause analyses, and manage problem management across various priority levels. A key aspect of this role involves deep-dive diagnostics using MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, application logs, queues, and integration interfaces.

Key responsibilities include authoring new SQL and PowerShell scripts, with mid-level investigation of .NET logs and code. You will manage essential operations such as patching, backups, and disaster recovery (DR) execution and validation. Furthermore, you will mentor L2 engineers, maintain comprehensive runbooks, the Knowledge Engineering Database (KEDB), and knowledge articles.

As a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in domains like Reporting, Clearing, Chargeback, Patching, Host Interface, or Message Processing, you will represent support in change reviews and post-incident reviews, driving preventative actions. This position requires shift-based coverage, including on-call rotations, and a strong focus on Reliability and SRE practices.

In terms of Reliability and SRE, you will define and maintain SLIs/SLOs for your domain, tracking error budgets and escalating reliability risks. Building automation to eliminate toil through auto-remediation, diagnostic tooling, and scripted runbooks is crucial. You'll own observability for your domain, managing dashboards, logging standards, distributed tracing, and key golden signals.

Leading blameless post-incident reviews and managing MTTR and incident recurrence metrics are essential. You will also monitor capacity and performance, warning before saturation, and execute resilience testing including DR drills and backup validation. Applying production readiness criteria to new releases and utilizing IaC/CI-CD for operational changes are also key expectations. Proficiency in MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, PowerShell, SQL, .NET, AWS services, and observability tools like Coralogix and Grafana is required. Experience with distributed tracing, payments domain specifics (card issuing/processing, ISO standards), PCI DSS, FCA operational resilience, ITIL, IaC, and CI/CD pipelines is necessary.
