Join WEX Mobility Engineering as a seasoned Sr. Software Engineer. You'll be integral to our International Mobility team, delivering fleet management and mobility payment solutions to major clients across EU and APAC regions. Our global development presence spans India, the UK, and the USA, providing robust SaaS and API solutions. WEX Mobility empowers businesses with flexible credit issuance for fleet operations, enabling precise control over card usage for fueling and other merchant transactions.

Your role will involve designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance backend services using object-oriented principles. You will build public REST and internal gRPC APIs, lead system design decisions, and ensure code quality through comprehensive automated testing. Identify and resolve system bottlenecks, drive scalability and stability enhancements, and implement CI/CD pipelines for faster delivery. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior engineers, conduct thorough code reviews, and champion engineering best practices. You will also troubleshoot complex issues, perform root cause analysis, maintain essential documentation, and provide live-site support to guarantee application reliability. As a tech lead or single-threaded owner, you'll drive cross-team projects and unblock other engineers.

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering is required, along with a minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience. Essential skills include a strong grasp of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, and problem-solving. Expertise in designing internet-scale services with a focus on scalability, availability, security, and reliability is crucial. Proficiency in backend development, particularly with Java or C#, and frameworks like SpringBoot, along with experience in building and optimizing RESTful APIs, ODATA, and SQL, is necessary. Excellent communication and collaborative skills are also key. A Master's degree, 8 years of experience, and familiarity with event-driven architecture, Kafka, card payments, cloud-native concepts (Docker, Kubernetes), and API security are preferred qualifications.
