Join a dynamic team as a Sr. Software Engineer within the WEX Mobility Engineering organization, focusing on International Mobility solutions for EU and APAC regions.

This role involves developing cutting-edge SaaS and API solutions for fleet management and mobility payments, empowering large customers and partners. The International Mobility development team operates globally across India, UK, and USA, providing innovative tools for credit issuance and spend control.

Contribute to a product suite that offers flexibility to fleet managers, enabling configuration of card usage for fueling stations and select merchants. You'll play a key part in enhancing the capabilities of WEX Mobility products.

Design, develop, and maintain robust, high-performance backend services using object-oriented principles.

Build public REST APIs and internal gRPC APIs, driving system design decisions and ensuring alignment with engineering best practices.

Implement comprehensive automated testing strategies, including unit, integration, end-to-end, concurrency, and load tests.

Identify and address system bottlenecks, technical debt, and drive scalability and stability improvements.

Spearhead automation for testing, monitoring, healing, and continuous integration/deployment pipelines to accelerate time to market.

Collaborate effectively with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver new features.

Conduct thorough code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and champion engineering excellence.

Troubleshoot complex issues, author root cause analyses, and ensure long-term system reliability.

Perform comparative technology analyses to inform solution choices.

Maintain essential documentation, including design docs, run books, and readiness plans.

Provide live-site support, monitor production systems, resolve incidents rapidly, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Lead cross-team projects as a technical lead or single-threaded owner, actively enabling other engineers.

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering is required, alongside a minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience.

Demonstrate a strong grasp of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, and problem-solving skills.

Possess expertise in designing and developing internet-scale services with a focus on scalability, availability, security, and reliability.

Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication abilities, coupled with a collaborative and empathetic approach.

Show proficiency in backend development, specifically in Java or C#, utilizing frameworks like SpringBoot. Expertise in building and optimizing RESTful APIs, ODATA framework, and SQL is essential.
