Join our dynamic International Mobility team at WEX as a Sr. Software Engineer. You'll contribute to innovative fleet management and mobility payment solutions serving our global clientele in the EU and APAC regions.

Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, object-oriented backend services. Craft public REST APIs and internal gRPC services for seamless communication.

Lead system design decisions and collaborate with fellow senior engineers for architectural alignment. Develop comprehensive automated tests, including unit, integration, end-to-end, concurrency, and load/performance tests.

Analyze existing systems to pinpoint bottlenecks and technical debt, implementing strategic improvements for scalability and stability. Drive the implementation of automation for testing, monitoring, healing, and continuous deployment pipelines to accelerate time-to-market.

Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to bring new features to life. Conduct thorough code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and champion engineering best practices. Troubleshoot complex issues, devise effective fixes, author root cause analyses, and ensure long-term system reliability.

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering is required, alongside at least 5 years of professional software engineering experience. You should possess a strong grasp of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design principles, and advanced problem-solving skills.

Expertise in designing and building internet-scale services adhering to principles of scalability, availability, security, and reliability is essential. Excellent communication, collaboration, and an empathetic approach are key to success in this role.

Proficiency in backend development, particularly with Java or C#, is crucial. Experience with frameworks like SpringBoot, optimizing RESTful APIs, the ODATA framework, and SQL is also necessary.
