Join our International Mobility team as a Sr. Software Engineer, contributing to fleet management and mobility payment solutions for clients in the EU and APAC. This role is part of a global development team spanning India, the UK, and the USA, focused on delivering SaaS and API solutions. Our products empower fleet managers with configurable spend controls, enabling flexible use of WEX or co-branded credit cards at fueling stations and select merchants.

Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and high-performance object-oriented backend services.

Craft public REST APIs using Java and internal gRPC APIs, leading design decisions and driving alignment with senior engineering peers.

Write comprehensive automated tests, including unit, integration, end-to-end, concurrency, and load/performance tests.

Analyze existing systems to identify and address bottlenecks and technical debt, implementing improvements for scalability and stability.

Implement automation for testing, monitoring, healing, and scaling applications, leveraging continuous integration and deployment to accelerate time to market.

Collaborate with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to define and implement new features.

Conduct code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and actively promote engineering best practices.

Troubleshoot complex issues, devise fixes, author root cause analysis documents, and ensure lasting performance and reliability.

Maintain thorough documentation, including design docs, run books, change management docs, and readiness plans.

Provide live-site support for production applications, monitor systems, ensure rapid incident resolution, and drive continuous improvement.

Drive cross-team projects as a single-threaded owner or tech lead, actively unblocking other engineers.

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering is required, alongside a minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience.

Possess a strong grasp of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, and exceptional problem-solving abilities.

Demonstrate expertise in designing and developing internet-scale services, adhering to tenets of scalability, availability, security, and reliability.

Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills, coupled with a collaborative and empathetic approach.

Proficiency in backend development is essential, with expertise in Java or C#, and experience with frameworks like SpringBoot, building and optimizing RESTful APIs, ODATA framework, and SQL.

Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, 8 years of software engineering experience, familiarity with event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka), experience in card payments, and knowledge of cloud-native architecture (Docker, Kubernetes). Awareness of API security and PCI DSS compliance is beneficial.
