Develop, enhance, and support HL7 v2.x interfaces within Epic Bridges and integration engines like Cloverleaf. Design, build, and maintain Bridges interfaces and interoperability workflows, including vendor connections to Epic. Analyze, map, and troubleshoot HL7 messages (ADT, MDM, ORM, ORU, SIU, DFT) and X12/EDI, independently resolving interface failures. Translate clinical and business needs into HL7 mappings and integration specifications, creating detailed documentation. Perform Epic-side build and configuration adjustments in Bridges. Support Epic upgrade cycles through Nova Notes review and regression testing. Monitor interface queues and logs, coordinating remediation efforts and communicating status to stakeholders. Ensure data exchange adheres to HIPAA and organizational security standards.
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience, is required. A minimum of 3 years of hands-on interface development experience with integration engines such as Cloverleaf and production support in healthcare settings is essential. Proficiency in building ADT, SIU, ORM, ORU, MDM, DFT, RDE, RDS, RAS, NCPDP, MFN, and X12/EDI interfaces is necessary. The ability to troubleshoot and resolve Integration Engine failures independently is crucial. Prior experience supporting live hospital or large health system integrations within an Epic environment is expected. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the capacity to explain complex issues to non-technical individuals, are vital. Experience in HIPAA-regulated healthcare IT environments and supporting 24x7 production operations is required.
