Join a forward-thinking technology company where innovation drives everything we do. Our Data Center Engineering team is shaping the future of our physical data center infrastructure. Working within a research and development-like environment, you'll contribute to developing and testing cutting-edge strategies. You'll tackle complex challenges in power utilization and sustainable facility management, acting as a visionary who constantly seeks efficiency improvements and impactful changes. Your role involves generating ideas, presenting recommendations to senior leadership, and collaborating on implementation with facilities technicians.
Leverage your technical expertise to ensure adherence to codes and standards, drive infrastructure enhancements, and become a subject matter expert in areas such as cooling or electrical systems. You will provide crucial engineering support for the design, construction, and operation of our data centers. Specifically, as a Senior Mechanical Engineer based in India, you will steer engineering outcomes for complex third-party developments, leased, and colocation data center sites across the APAC region. Your responsibilities include serving as the primary technical authority, ensuring our design, engineering, and operational standards are met during due diligence, design reviews, and commissioning processes, particularly for complex power infrastructure.
Key responsibilities include leading technical due diligence for new leased and colocation data center facilities in APAC, with a focus on mechanical systems. You will conduct thorough reviews of design documents and equipment submittals from external partners. You will also manage the RFI process to identify and resolve mechanical conflicts and system design issues in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent practical experience, along with 5 years of experience in mission-critical facility design and construction. Essential experience covers data center mechanical systems, including chilled water plants, data hall cooling (air and liquid), fuel oil, fire alarm, and fire protection systems. Some travel across APAC countries is expected.
Preferred qualifications feature a Master's degree in Engineering or Business, or a professional engineering license. Experience with greenfield/brownfield data center developments, expansions, and colocation fit-outs is highly valued. A proven track record of negotiating technical requirements with colocation operators and external partners, alongside familiarity with global and local mechanical standards in APAC countries and standard commissioning methodologies, will set candidates apart.
