Join our team as a Senior Core Infrastructure Engineer and take the lead in designing, implementing, and refining critical components within distributed systems. This role is pivotal in ensuring our systems are highly scalable, remarkably resilient, and exceptionally operable. You will be instrumental in delivering robust features, conducting comprehensive load and performance testing, and leveraging cutting-edge data plane platforms and distributed state tools to manage high-volume data retrieval, storage, and processing. Peer code reviews will focus on maintaining scalability standards, ensuring the robustness of our infrastructure.
You will architect and build fault-tolerant systems, incorporating redundancy, replication, and automatic failover mechanisms. Applying recovery-oriented principles and implementing strategies like retries, circuit breakers, and timeouts will be key to enhancing system stability. Proactive issue detection and mitigation through rigorous testing, alerts, dashboards, and telemetry, alongside authoring runbooks and participating in incident response and root cause analyses, are integral parts of this role. Furthermore, you will implement standard synchronization techniques, develop automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for efficient troubleshooting and maintenance, and apply advanced security controls, all while upholding stringent change, compliance, and documentation standards.
Key responsibilities include designing and implementing components for scalable distributed systems, optimizing code and systems for large-scale data processing, and ensuring scalability requirements are met. You will also develop fault-tolerant components with redundancy and automatic failover, apply recovery-oriented computing principles, and implement mechanisms to handle network unreliability. Proactively detecting and addressing issues through tests and alarms, supporting failure recovery with runbooks, and building monitoring dashboards are essential. Designing and implementing functional requirements, testing system correctness, and implementing data replication and synchronization techniques will also be part of your role. Operational duties involve diagnosing and resolving system issues, preventing service interruptions, designing automation for troubleshooting, and participating in incident response and root cause investigations. You will apply advanced security measures, implement remediation plans, ensure cloud infrastructure compliance, and maintain up-to-date documentation. Maintaining automation scripts and tools (e.g., IaC), adhering to change management plans, tracking project timelines with minimal supervision, collaborating across teams to achieve shared objectives, identifying and addressing issues, analyzing data for troubleshooting, and contributing to knowledge sharing are also critical functions.
This role demands a proactive approach to system design and reliability, focusing on creating fault-tolerant components and applying recovery-oriented principles. Successful candidates will excel at implementing retry mechanisms, circuit breakers, and timeouts to manage network unreliability effectively. A key aspect involves building robust monitoring systems, including tests, alarms, dashboards, and telemetry, to proactively detect and resolve issues. Strong problem-solving skills are essential for diagnosing and debugging system components, along with the ability to design automation scripts for troubleshooting. Participation in operational support rotations and incident response is expected. Candidates must be adept at applying advanced security measures like encryption and access controls, and implementing remediation plans. A commitment to continuous learning, staying current with industry trends, and contributing to a culture of knowledge sharing is highly valued. Adherence to change management plans, compliance with industry standards, and maintaining accurate documentation are also crucial.
