Join Oracle's aggressive investment in cloud infrastructure as a Senior Core Infrastructure Engineer. This role focuses on the AI Infrastructure domain, where you'll lead the software design and development for key components of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
We seek curious, hands-on software developers with a solid foundation in Linux, systems fundamentals, and distributed systems. You will explore the full stack, understand low-level system behavior, and engineer scalable distributed services, valuing simplicity and scale in a collaborative, agile environment.
This position is within the Compute Bare Metal Provisioning team, crucial for automating the entire server lifecycle. You'll work with cutting-edge hardware like BMCs, NICs, GPUs, and custom firmware, integrating distributed systems development with Linux and firmware expertise.
As a Senior Core Infrastructure Engineer, you will be instrumental in writing code, designing services, and developing tooling to provision, configure, secure, and validate server platforms across OCI's extensive Compute and GPU infrastructure.
You will collaborate closely with teams across Compute, Networking, Security, Data Center Engineering, and Hardware Development to ensure the successful launch, scaling, and maintenance of new server platforms with exceptional reliability and minimal operational overhead.
This role provides direct exposure to advanced GPU hardware and the opportunity to witness the tangible impact of your contributions on the business.
We are looking for a seasoned professional with 3-8+ years of software development experience, specifically in building or operating large-scale, highly available distributed systems.
Essential qualifications include strong coding proficiency in object-oriented languages like Java or C++, along with experience in scripting languages such as Python. A deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems fundamentals is also crucial.
You should possess excellent problem-solving and debugging skills, with a passion for performance tuning. Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform, networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP), and database/storage technologies is expected. Experience with AI agents and prompt engineering for development support is a plus.
