Seeking a Senior Core Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, and enhance distributed systems with a focus on scalability, resilience, and operational excellence. This role involves developing features, conducting performance tests, and utilizing data plane platforms for high-volume data handling. You will build robust fault-tolerant systems, apply recovery-oriented principles, and implement strategies like retries and circuit breakers.
Proactive issue detection and mitigation through testing, monitoring, and telemetry are key. This includes authoring runbooks, participating in incident response, and conducting root cause analyses. The role also focuses on implementing replication, synchronization, and IaC for troubleshooting and maintenance, alongside applying advanced security measures and adhering to compliance standards.
Architect and develop scalable components for distributed systems, optimizing for large-scale data processing. Implement and review scalability requirements, leveraging data plane platforms for extensive data retrieval, storage, and processing. Design and build fault-tolerant systems with redundancy, replication, and automatic failover. Apply recovery-oriented computing principles and implement mechanisms like retries and circuit breakers to handle service disruptions.
Proactively detect and resolve issues through comprehensive testing, alarm configurations, and custom dashboards. Support recovery efforts by drafting and executing runbooks. Implement advanced security measures, including encryption and access controls, and ensure compliance with industry standards. Maintain and enhance automation scripts and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for cloud infrastructure management.
Requires a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in commercial or open-source software development. Demonstrated strong fluency in modern programming languages such as C++ or Java.
Possess excellent problem-solving abilities and a solid understanding of Computer Science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems. Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure) and building cloud-scale control plane systems is essential. Strong systems programming skills, particularly in multi-threading and concurrency, are also required.
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science is necessary, with a Master's degree being preferred. Candidates should exhibit intense curiosity, a willingness to question, and a passion for building robust systems.
