Join our team as a Senior Core Infrastructure Engineer, where you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and enhancing distributed systems. This role focuses on building robust, scalable, and resilient infrastructure. You will leverage advanced tools and techniques to manage high-volume data processing and ensure system operability.
Key to this position is the ability to build fault-tolerant systems and proactively address potential issues through rigorous testing and monitoring. Your contributions will directly impact the reliability and performance of our core systems.
We seek a candidate with a passion for systems engineering, a deep curiosity, and the drive to continuously improve our infrastructure. If you thrive on complex challenges and are eager to make a significant impact, we encourage you to apply.
Key responsibilities include architecting and implementing components for horizontally and vertically scalable distributed systems, optimizing code for large-scale data processing, and conducting performance and load testing. You will also build fault-tolerant systems with redundancy and replication, apply recovery-oriented computing principles, and implement mechanisms like circuit breakers and timeouts.
Proactive issue detection and mitigation through tests, alarms, dashboards, and telemetry are essential. You will author runbooks, participate in incident response, and perform root cause analysis. Implementing standard replication, synchronization, and developing automation/IaC for troubleshooting and maintenance are also core duties.
Furthermore, you will apply advanced security controls, including encryption and access management, while ensuring adherence to change, compliance, and documentation standards. Collaboration within the team to ensure cloud infrastructure meets industry standards and regulations is vital.
We are looking for candidates with a minimum of 5 years of industry experience in commercial or open-source software development. A strong command of C++ or Java, coupled with excellent problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of Computer Science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, distributed systems), is essential.
Prior experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure) and building cloud-scale control plane systems is required. Strong systems programming skills, including multi-threading and concurrency, are necessary, alongside a solid foundation in distributed systems concepts like consistency, scaling, and failure recovery.
Experience with implementation testing, debugging, and documentation within a Linux environment is expected. A BS in Computer Science is required, with a Master's degree being preferred. We value intense curiosity, a willingness to question, and a passion for building exceptional systems.
