The Global Compliance & Reporting team provides connected tax services across all disciplines, leveraging insights and technology to empower clients in making informed business decisions and complying with global tax policies and laws.
As a Senior Consultant, you will play a key role in supporting client engagements within EY India’s Telecom Regulatory Consulting team. Your primary responsibilities will include tracking and analyzing regulatory developments from key authorities such as DoT, TRAI, and MeitY.
You will review telecom licenses, regulations, and policy documents to identify obligations and business impacts. Support clients in managing regulatory operations, compliance calendars, and preparing necessary filings. You will also assist with licensing assessments for various telecom and digital infrastructure models and prepare client-ready deliverables like regulatory notes, impact assessments, and presentations.
Furthermore, you will support assignments related to data privacy (DPDP), consent management, AI governance, and other emerging digital regulations. Collaborating with senior team members, you will map technical architectures to regulatory requirements and compliance risks.
To excel in this role, you should possess a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in telecommunications regulation, regulatory affairs, data privacy, technology compliance, public policy, legal/regulatory research, telecom operations, or consulting. A Bachelor’s degree in law, engineering, technology, public policy, economics, business, commerce, or a related discipline is required; a postgraduate qualification is preferred.
Strong analytical skills are essential, including the ability to interpret complex regulatory texts, identify obligations, and assess implications. Excellent drafting, research, and presentation skills with a keen eye for detail and command over English are crucial. You should have a working knowledge or strong curiosity for basic telecom concepts and possess a high degree of ownership, responsiveness, and a client-service mindset.

The ideal candidate will enjoy decoding regulatory instruments, quickly learning new telecom/digital concepts, and providing structured, practical advice to regulated entities.
