As part of the AMI industry market, you'll engage with sectors like Aerospace and Defence, Chemicals, Infrastructure, Industrial Products, Automotive, and Transportation. You will help clients adapt to evolving business needs in how goods and services are designed, created, bought, and sold, fostering cross-sector collaboration and robust market responses.

The TAX - GCR team offers connected services across all tax disciplines, leveraging exceptional knowledge, experience, and technology to provide clients with strategic insights and solutions. We assist companies in understanding and complying with global tax policies and laws, utilizing transformative technologies for strategy execution, risk reduction, and sustainable value creation.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Consultant in Direct Tax, you will provide expert assistance to core Tax teams in delivering high-quality solutions. Your key responsibilities will include:

- Assisting seniors in responding to client queries on corporate tax matters, such as capital gains, tax payments, and return preparation. - Conducting technical research on income tax provisions impacting clients. - Preparing submissions for assessment and appellate proceedings, and supporting senior representatives before income tax authorities. - Appearing before income tax authorities for routine client matters. - Managing administrative responsibilities for allocated clients, including engagement letters, internal QRM, client paper filing, and billing follow-up. - Conducting engagements professionally and in accordance with client expectations and contractual terms. - Collaborating constructively with the team, contributing to performance improvement, and leveraging knowledge from various sources. - Providing timely, high-quality services that exceed client expectations. - Participating in group work execution, delivering effectively, and teaming with professionals for comprehensive tax solutions. - Ensuring assigned work adheres to work programs, firm methodologies, guidance, and professional standards. - Utilizing electronic working papers and software applications efficiently for research. - Acquiring and demonstrating competence in technical knowledge and compliance processes, staying updated on industry trends and technical authorities. - Analyzing data and converting it into accurate and timely tax products (advisory/compliance). - Thoroughly checking documents and making them available for tax inspections. - Demonstrating professionalism through a positive attitude and maintaining client confidentiality.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) designation is mandatory. - 4-6 years of experience in direct tax is required. - Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is essential. - Strong analytical and numerical abilities are expected. - Excellent interpersonal skills, enthusiasm, and a self-starter attitude are highly valued. - The ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines is crucial.

Ideally, you will also bring:

- Strong communication, facilitation, relationship-building, presentation, and negotiation skills. - High flexibility, adaptability, and creativity. - Comfort in interacting with senior executives, both within the firm and at client organizations. - Comfort in travelling within the designated city limits and to other locations for work-related matters.
