This role is crucial for maintaining systems running Airflow (MWAA), Spark, Flink on EKS, and Databricks within AWS. You will be instrumental in responding to incidents, diagnosing complex issues, enhancing system reliability, and optimizing overall efficiency. Your responsibilities will include providing direct support for production EKS workloads, CI/CD pipelines, and AWS infrastructure. You will develop and maintain infrastructure automation using Terraform modules, scripts, and monitoring tools to support platform operations, diagnostics, and deployment troubleshooting. A key part of the role involves responding to and resolving issues within EKS, Istio, and CI/CD systems, performing root cause analysis, and documenting resolutions. You'll collaborate with application and DevOps teams on shared projects and onboarding. Additionally, you will contribute to operational runbooks, define infrastructure standards, and promote best practices for platform reliability.

A minimum of 4 years of experience in infrastructure, platform engineering, or DevOps roles is required, with a strong background in data systems support. You should possess solid operational expertise with AWS infrastructure, including IAM, VPC, EKS, and ALB/NLB. Hands-on experience with data infrastructure platforms like MWAA, Databricks, and running Spark/Flink on Kubernetes in production is essential. Proficiency in supporting and troubleshooting CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins and Spinnaker is also necessary. Familiarity with cloud security and networking concepts for EKS, including IAM, TLS, VPCs, DNS, and service-to-service access, is expected. Strong collaboration and communication skills are vital for aligning with distributed engineering teams. Working knowledge of infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) and scripting languages like Python or Go is required. Experience with on-call rotations and high-severity incident resolution across globally distributed teams is also a prerequisite. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience, is required.
