Develop and design advanced IT application landscapes, analyzing current states and optimizing architectures. Identify critical technology decisions for clients and craft compelling roadmaps with robust business cases. Review vendor proposals and provide quality assurance for technical projects, while optimizing application development processes.
Foster a strong technical community by advising colleagues and fellow architects on core concepts. Build and leverage a network within BCG to deliver exceptional client solutions. This role involves guiding clients through their digital journeys, overcoming technical limitations, and enabling unprecedented advancements.
A university degree in a mathematical-scientific field, Data Science, Information Technology, or Business Administration is required, with above-average academic performance. Prior experience in software development, technical project management, digital delivery, or technology consulting is essential. A background in Data Science is preferred, alongside a solid understanding of AI/ML concepts.
Expertise in architecting scalable, performant, and cost-optimized AI/ML solutions is crucial. You must be fluent in Enterprise technology language and capable of managing complex design processes with multiple stakeholders, particularly for implementing enterprise Gen AI platforms. Experience designing and building solutions within complex legacy organizations is highly valued.
Demonstrate the ability to differentiate between Large Language Models (LLMs) and other AI/ML techniques. Possess knowledge of major GenAI technology players and LLM products, articulating their merits and implications for client sourcing strategies, including guardrails, security, performance, and cost. Previous hands-on coding experience is highly desirable, though not a requirement for this architect role.

Experience in designing and implementing generative AI platforms for clients, working alongside development teams from strategy through IT operations, is expected.
Proficiency in developing and integrating APIs, especially for serving ML models, is necessary. Provide guidance on the technical implementation of production-grade applications. Applied knowledge of popular models, vendors (including cloud providers), orchestration frameworks, and advanced prompt engineering techniques such as RAG, context windows, and memory is expected.
Possess a strong understanding of common development methods, DevOps practices, and continuous improvement. Experience with Microservices topologies, including operational concerns like resiliency, observability, and security, is important. Experience with and the ability to lead legacy integration and remediation efforts are also key requirements.
