Job description

Join the AWS Security Incident Response team as a technical Security Engineer, driving innovation in customer protection. Your role will be pivotal in identifying suspicious activities, leading incident responses, and articulating complex security concepts to diverse audiences.

We offer comprehensive solutions, including Professional Services, Training and Certification, Support, and Security Assurance Services. Our diverse teams across numerous countries leverage emerging technologies like Generative AI to help customers achieve more with the AWS cloud.

Responsibilities

- Investigate threat findings to confirm unauthorized activities. - Propose and implement solutions to enhance AWS Security Incident Response capabilities and automation. - Provide critical security engineering support during customer incidents, focusing on preventative measures. - Mentor fellow information security engineers to bolster security posture and risk mitigation. - Evaluate and communicate security threats, risks, and vulnerabilities, recommending effective remediation strategies. - Monitor and report on the performance of AWS detective controls like Amazon GuardDuty, alongside partner products. - Develop and refine processes and policies to optimize security response effectiveness. - Participate in on-call rotations, including weekend coverage.

Qualifications

- Possess 4+ years of programming experience in languages such as Python, Ruby, Go, Swift, Java, .Net, or C++. - Offer 4+ years of combined experience in threat modeling, secure coding, identity management, authentication, software development, cryptography, system administration, or network security. - Demonstrate 4+ years of experience in troubleshooting system issues, analyzing logs, or automating tasks via command-line tools. - Hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field. - Exhibit strong knowledge of networking protocols including HTTP, DNS, and TCP/IP. - Understand industry-standard security vulnerabilities and effective remediation techniques. - Possess practical experience in security operations, risk management, and incident response.
