This role emphasizes upfront risk prevention through technical excellence, shifting our strategy from reactive "risk-chasing" to a "prevention by design" model. You'll be instrumental in ensuring the security and confidentiality of Google's products and facilities.
Your key responsibilities will include: - Crafting sophisticated queries for robust data interpretation. - Proactively identifying and mitigating risks across interconnected products and services. - Participating actively in the triaging and meticulous documentation of cybersecurity incidents. - Independently managing threats and proposing actionable process enhancements. - Deepening your understanding of attacker methodologies to develop innovative detection mechanisms.
To be successful in this role, you will need: - A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. - A minimum of 5 years of experience in security operations (SOC), incident response, threat hunting, IT compliance, or a similar domain. - Demonstrated experience with log analysis, data querying using SQL, and monitoring security controls. - Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional security incidents effectively. - A solid understanding of common security frameworks, access governance models, and the vulnerability management lifecycle. - The capability to translate operational security findings into clear, actionable technical engineering requirements.
