The Featured Merchant Algorithm (FMA) team is dedicated to simplifying the Amazon shopping journey. We leverage machine learning and contextual data to expertly rank and present the most relevant offers to customers. Our systems are built to handle immense scale, serving hundreds of millions of users and processing millions of requests per second for vast product and offer catalogs.
As a hands-on engineer and technical leader, you will be instrumental in developing software products and features from conception to completion. This includes taking ownership of all facets of software development, from design and implementation to successful delivery within a complex domain.
You will collaborate closely with senior and principal engineers to tackle challenging, undefined problems and contribute to the evolution of our product architecture. A key aspect of this role involves mentoring junior engineers and fostering their growth, enabling team success. You'll also engage with teams utilizing ML for product offer recommendations, providing valuable input on their strategic direction and technical approaches. We seek candidates with at least 3 years of professional software development experience, excluding internships. A minimum of 2 years in designing or architecting new and existing systems, with a focus on reliability and scalability, is essential.
Proficiency in at least one software programming language is required. Preferred qualifications include 3+ years of experience across the full software development lifecycle, encompassing coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations. A Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field is highly desirable.
