Job description

Join GE HealthCare as a Molecular Imaging Collaboration Scientist and drive innovation in our next-generation Molecular Imaging portfolio. This role focuses on PET technology, supporting clinical translation and strategic collaborations across SPECT. You will act as a scientific liaison, translating unmet clinical needs and emerging research into tangible outcomes, including feasibility studies, research tools, product concepts, and compelling scientific evidence.

Shape and lead research collaborations independently. Develop technology-centric evidence plans that complement partner site clinical evidence and contribute to multiple scientific publications. A blend of hands-on expertise in PET algorithms, reconstruction, post-processing, and quantitative imaging, combined with strong scientific communication and relationship-building skills, is essential for success. We seek a collaborative scientist adept at representing GE HealthCare and transforming technical innovation into significant clinical and scientific impact.

Responsibilities

Design and execute collaborative research projects, aligning physics, reconstruction, engineering, and clinical needs with business objectives. Develop and validate new total-body PET applications, aiding clinical implementation and adoption. Maintain SPECT breadth for translation and partnerships. Evaluate prototypes and validate technology performance with internal teams, accelerating research tool transitions. Contribute to research algorithms, reconstruction methods, post-processing, quantitative imaging, and research software. Provide onsite technical support for new technology validation and partner site investigations. Lead original research culminating in publications, presentations, and patents to enhance GE HealthCare's imaging leadership. Develop technology-focused evidence plans supporting high-quality publications. Communicate technical analyses effectively to leadership, partners, and scientific audiences. Identify and translate unmet needs into R&D opportunities. Build collaborator networks and inform roadmap planning. Lead technical execution and scientific direction of collaborations, managing site engagement, deliverables, and data analysis. Pursue external grants and strategic partnerships to expand scientific resources.

Qualifications

A Ph.D. in an engineering or science field such as Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Math, or Physics is required. Possess a minimum of 4 years of experience in medical imaging, image processing, or related application development. Demonstrate a strong track record in developing PET imaging technology, with hands-on experience in areas like image reconstruction, corrections, quantitative imaging, post-processing, algorithm development, system-performance evaluation, or research software development. Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Python and MATLAB is essential. A proactive, curious, and adaptable mindset is crucial for tackling new scientific and technical challenges. Excellent English language communication skills are mandatory.
