Job description

Drive exceptional software quality as a Quality Engineering Lead. This role involves guiding a team of quality engineers, coordinating multi-disciplinary planning, and integrating ecosystem components to accelerate delivery and uphold stringent quality standards across the entire application lifecycle. You will leverage business and functional expertise to craft comprehensive, end-to-end testing strategies, applying established quality processes and methodologies. A key part of this position is defining and implementing critical metrics to effectively manage and assess the testing process, including test execution and defect resolution.

This position offers a dynamic environment where strategic oversight and collaboration are paramount for continuous improvement and the delivery of reliable software solutions. Join us to make a significant impact on our product quality and contribute to a culture of excellence.

Responsibilities

Lead the complete software quality assurance lifecycle within an Agile framework, from initial strategy and planning through execution and detailed reporting.

Develop, implement, and maintain robust automated test frameworks and suites covering UI, API, data, and integration layers using tools like Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, REST-assured, JUnit/TestNG, Cucumber, Robot Framework, or PyTest.

Create and sustain automated tests for Java/Spring Boot services and REST APIs, including regression, integration, and end-to-end scenarios.

Contribute to Java development, including feature enhancements, bug fixes, and code reviews, collaborating closely with engineers on Spring Boot microservices as needed.

Design comprehensive test strategies, detailed test plans, and functional use cases based on business and technical requirements, ensuring complete coverage for critical HR and analytics use cases.

Collaborate effectively with product owners, business analysts, data engineers, and developers to thoroughly understand requirements and translate them into actionable test scenarios.

Engage with data and integration components such as Databricks, Azure Data Factory (ADF), and DVP, validating data flows, transformations, and interfaces.

Implement and/or enhance AI-driven and intelligent test solutions, such as smart test selection, self-healing tests, and ML-based test analytics, where appropriate.

Maintain high-quality documentation for test strategies, test cases, test data, and test results, and contribute to technical documentation as required.

Proactively identify quality risks, defects, and process improvement opportunities, driving their resolution with the team.

Ensure adherence to Agile methodologies and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices.

Qualifications

Possess 4+ years of extensive hands-on software engineering experience, including:

Strong proficiency in Java development, preferably with Spring Boot for microservices and REST APIs.

Experience developing code using Python is a desirable asset.

Demonstrated expertise in manual and automated testing across unit, integration, system, and end-to-end functional testing.

Proven experience with test automation frameworks and web testing frameworks like Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.

Solid experience in API testing and integration testing.

Over 4 years of dedicated experience in software testing, including:

Substantial experience designing and implementing sophisticated test automation frameworks (e.g., JUnit/TestNG, Cucumber/BDD, Robot Framework, PyTest, or similar).

Experience with data-centric and integration testing, ideally involving Databricks, Azure Data Factory (ADF), DVP, and REST APIs.

Familiarity with AI-driven or intelligent test automation solutions (e.g., ML-based test selection, self-healing locators, test analytics) is a significant advantage.

Deep understanding of Agile methodologies and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices.

Hands-on experience with version control systems (e.g., Azure Gitlab) and CI/CD tools (e.g., Azure Gitlab CI/CD, UBS Deploy).

Experience with defect tracking and test management tools (e.g., Gitlab, Squash).

Ability to interpret business requirements and effectively translate them into robust test strategies, plans, and functional use cases.

Excellent documentation skills and a keen eye for detail.

Demonstrated proactivity, self-drive, and the ability to take ownership of quality across the entire lifecycle.

Strong communication and collaboration skills, essential for working in a global, cross-functional team.

Understanding of the HR domain is considered an advantage.

A mandatory 15 years of full-time education is required for this position.
