The goal is to create intelligent data experiences like data agents and conversational analytics, moving beyond traditional dashboards. Expertise in enterprise data warehousing and semantic modeling is key, combined with agentic AI architectures including LLMs, tools, retrieval, and evaluation.

SAP Datasphere is positioned as a comprehensive data warehousing solution with robust integration capabilities, forming the foundation for these advanced data products.

Core responsibilities include designing and implementing governed data products within Datasphere, building semantic models for analytics and AI, and creating grounded AI experiences by connecting LLMs to curated models. This involves engineering retrieval strategies, supporting hybrid modernization with BW bridge patterns, and implementing lakehouse-style layering. You will also develop data agents, design prompt templates, and establish evaluation and observability loops for responsible AI.

Collaboration with business, data governance, and platform teams is essential to align data products with operational workflows. The role also emphasizes driving reusable patterns for repeatable delivery across domains.

A strong foundation in SAP BTP Datasphere is essential, encompassing data modeling, spaces, sharing patterns, and enterprise semantic design. Candidates should possess robust data warehousing fundamentals and the ability to translate business domains into governed analytical models. Hands-on experience with LLMs and RAG, including retrieval, grounding, prompt/tool design, and evaluation, is required. Solid software engineering principles, including testability, a CI/CD mindset, and reliable integrations, are also crucial.

Additional beneficial skills include migration/modernization experience with BW bridge patterns, layered architecture implementation (Bronze/Silver/Gold), and familiarity with vector search/embedding pipelines for external AI retrieval components.
