Amazon seeks a driven Project Manager to oversee the operational engineering projects. This role demands a deep understanding of the complete project lifecycle, from assessment and design to execution and performance qualification. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in site selection, ensuring adherence to legal and statutory compliances, prioritizing project safety, managing project value, and executing various project types including greenfield, brownfield, and improvement initiatives.
Spearhead the planning and execution of diverse building formats for the East India region, focusing on establishing new centers, expanding existing facilities, and relocating operations as per business needs. Drive key project management initiatives such as standardization, energy conservation, and productivity improvements. Ensure timely and safe delivery of facilities, upholding the highest engineering standards.
Key responsibilities include supporting site selection feasibility assessments, finalizing conceptual layouts, preparing developer and Amazon scopes of work with detailed cost estimates, and managing capital expenditure requests. You will also be responsible for finalizing Project Management Consultants, planning and managing project resources, evaluating and finalizing vendors, and reviewing material requirements.
Monitor progress and manage onsite activities for Amazon's scope of work, ensuring developer quality and facilitating a snag-free handover to the Facilities Team. Collaborate with the Launch team for site readiness and ensure adherence to budget and safety targets with zero Lost Time Injuries (LTIs). Prepare weekly progress reports and ensure timely project closure, including commercial aspects.
A Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Electrical, Civil, Chemical, Mechanical, or a related core engineering discipline is required.
Experience with Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or substantial experience in project, program, or product management, particularly within technical education programs, is preferred.
Key performance indicators for this role include achieving over 95% on-time and in-full (OTIF) project delivery, maintaining over 95% budget adherence with no cost overruns, ensuring safe project execution with zero LTIs, and achieving over 95% adherence to safety and statutory compliance. Successful completion and rollout of specific project management initiatives on time are also critical.
