Job description

Amazon is seeking driven individuals to join its Global Engineering Services team. This role requires a deep understanding of the entire project lifecycle, from assessment and design to execution and performance qualification. You will play a crucial part in site selection, ensuring statutory and legal compliance, managing project safety, and driving value management for diverse project scales. The opportunity involves executing various technical project types, including greenfield, brownfield, and improvement initiatives.

As a Project Manager II, you will be instrumental in establishing new centers and expanding existing facilities within a specific region, North India. Your responsibilities will extend to overseeing capacity expansions and relocations to meet evolving business needs. Furthermore, you will lead key project management initiatives such as standardization, energy conservation, and productivity improvements, alongside managing project financial processes.

Responsibilities

Lead the planning and execution of building projects across various formats for North India, focusing on new center setup, capacity expansion, and facility relocation. Drive project management initiatives like standardization, energy conservation programs, and productivity improvements. Ensure the timely and safe delivery and handover of facilities, adhering to the highest engineering standards and practices. Support the RE team with site visits and due diligence for feasibility assessments. Finalize conceptual layouts and assess operational parameters. Prepare Developer’s Scope of Work, Amazon’s scope of work, cost estimates, and Build out Capex requests. Manage project resource planning through appointed Project Management Consultants (PMCs) or hired resources. Collaborate with the Procurement team to evaluate and finalize project vendors. Review material requirements, track receipts, and oversee implementation. Monitor progress and manage the execution of Amazon's scope of work onsite. Track and ensure the quality of Developer's work and facilitate a snag-free handover. Work with the Launch team for site readiness and ensure adherence to budget and safety targets (Zero LTI). Prepare weekly progress reviews and reports, ensuring timely project closure, including commercials.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree is required, complemented by experience in engineering and a supervisory role managing teams. Proven experience in project management within fast-paced industrial, logistics, production, or manufacturing environments is essential. Familiarity with automated equipment, including packaging machinery, sortation, and conveyor systems, is preferred. Experience with preventative maintenance systems is also advantageous. While a Bachelor's degree in engineering, management, or technology is preferred, a foundational Bachelor's degree is mandatory.
