Job description

Join Amazon's Global Engineering Services team as a Project Manager II and play a crucial role in delivering customer-centric solutions. This position demands a deep understanding of the entire project lifecycle, from assessment and design to execution and qualification.

The role involves key aspects such as site selection in collaboration with the RE team, ensuring adherence to statutory and legal compliances, and prioritizing project safety in both design and execution. You'll also be involved in value management for projects of various scales and executing different project formats, including greenfield, brownfield, and improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

Lead the planning and execution of diverse building formats across North India, establishing new centers, expanding existing facilities, and managing relocations. Drive project management initiatives like standardization, energy conservation, and productivity improvements, alongside managing project financials.

Ensure the timely and safe delivery of facilities, upholding the highest engineering standards. Support the RE team in site feasibility assessments, finalize conceptual layouts, and prepare developer and Amazon scopes of work, including cost estimates and Capex requests.

Manage project resources through appointed consultants or hired personnel, collaborate with procurement to finalize vendors, and oversee material requirements from procurement to implementation. Monitor progress, manage onsite execution, track quality, and ensure a snag-free handover to the Facilities Team.

Assist the Launch team in site readiness, rigorously adhere to budgets and safety targets (aiming for Zero LTI), and prepare regular progress reports. Ensure efficient project closure, including all commercial aspects.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree is required, complemented by experience in engineering, including supervisory roles and managing teams. Proven experience in fast-paced environments such as automated industrial, logistics, production, or manufacturing settings is essential.

Demonstrated experience in project management is a core requirement for this role. Preferred qualifications include experience with automated equipment like packaging machinery, sortation, and conveyor systems, as well as familiarity with preventative maintenance systems. A Bachelor's degree in engineering, management, or technology is also preferred.
