This role focuses on managing and optimizing the Cutover SaaS platform to ensure the creation and execution of high-quality runbooks. The Application Runbook Administrator is key to facilitating seamless cutover processes within regulated environments, requiring strong operational discipline and cross-functional coordination.
The position involves administering the Cutover platform, including user access, templates, and configurations, while ensuring adherence to company policies. Developing standardized runbook templates for various events and collaborating with technical teams to capture comprehensive cutover details are central to this role.
Key responsibilities include administering Cutover workspaces, user access, and configurations according to Synchrony policies. You will build and maintain standardized runbook templates for events such as disaster recovery tests and migrations, defining phase structures, task types, and necessary metadata.
Collaboration with application and platform teams is essential to capture complete end-to-end cutover steps, dependencies, owners, prerequisites, validation checks, and rollback procedures. Ensuring all runbooks meet strict governance standards, including completeness, naming conventions, task clarity, time estimates, sequencing, and approvals, is a critical aspect of this position.
Additionally, you will coordinate cutover readiness reviews and dry runs, confirm execution owners, communication plans, and validation criteria. Leading or facilitating runbook execution within Cutover involves launching events, managing task progression, monitoring blockers, maintaining real-time status, and ensuring timely escalations. Integrating Cutover usage with broader release and change management processes, maintaining traceability for audits, and managing Cutover reporting and dashboards are also key duties.
This role also encompasses maintaining runbook documentation and knowledge articles, providing training and coaching to new teams adopting Cutover, and driving continuous improvement through post-implementation reviews and template enhancements.
Success in this role demands strong operational discipline, excellent cross-functional coordination, and proven proficiency with runbook-driven execution in regulated environments. Experience administering or extensively using Cutover is required.
Hands-on experience with IT Resilience, Incident Management following ITIL principles, and production support practices is essential. The ability to translate complex technical procedures into clear, executable, step-by-step tasks with well-defined ownership and acceptance criteria is a must.
Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills are needed to effectively coordinate cross-team tasks. Familiarity with SDLC concepts, environment management, and deployment patterns (such as blue/green, rolling, or canary) at a conceptual level is beneficial. A solid understanding of incident/problem management and post-event review practices is also important.
This position requires keen attention to detail, rigorous documentation practices, and an audit-ready mindset. Comfort working in fast-paced schedules, including potential after-hours maintenance windows, is necessary.
