As a key member of the Controls Engineering team, you will be instrumental in resolving complex support issues by collaborating with internal stakeholders and cross-functional engineering teams. You will act as a primary escalation point for technical challenges, drive client issue resolution, and identify opportunities to enhance efficiency through automation and AI tooling.

Your responsibilities will include managing incidents, conducting post-mortems, and ensuring Service Level Objectives (SLOs) are consistently met. You'll also be responsible for creating essential documentation and code snippets to empower clients and internal engineering teams. This role requires active participation in shifts, including bank holidays, and a proactive approach to building and automating solutions for recurring issues.

Candidates should possess a strong foundation in programming, with a mandatory comfort level in coding and debugging using Java or Python. Experience with Kubernetes and front-end development tools like REACT is highly advantageous.

Proven experience in a support role, coupled with a solid understanding of incident management, is essential. You must demonstrate excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with clients and stakeholders.

A good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and proficiency with version control systems (CVS, SVN, GIT), build tools (Maven), CI/CD platforms (GITLAB, Jenkins), and containerization technologies (Docker) are required.

Experience with Linux system platforms and familiarity with database systems (Oracle, DB2, MS SQL, Sybase) and application servers (Apache, Tomcat) are also key qualifications. Experience in log analysis and monitoring tools like Splunk is beneficial.
