Join Sarvam, a pioneering company building India's sovereign AI platform. We are seeking a Product Manager to lead the development and strategy for our Model APIs. This pivotal role connects our cutting-edge research with market needs, influencing the direction of AI models for India.

Your responsibilities will span defining the API surface, pricing, and packaging, while also guiding model development priorities, including capabilities, language support, and quality standards. This is an opportunity to shape the AI roadmap itself and ensure our models deliver maximum impact for India.

Spearhead the product vision and execution for Sarvam's Model APIs across various modalities, including speech, language, and multimodal. Define and manage the API lifecycle, from initial specification and versioning through documentation, developer experience, and eventual deprecation.

Collaborate closely with research leads to shape model roadmaps, integrating insights from model usage, evaluations, and customer feedback. Establish and maintain stringent quality standards for each model line, focusing on accuracy, latency, cost-effectiveness, and robustness in real-world deployments.

Own the product evaluation process, designing benchmark suites, offline/online tests, and human evaluations to ensure model progress is clearly communicated. Translate customer and developer feedback into actionable model and API requirements, closing the loop by informing stakeholders of implemented changes and the rationale behind them.

Partner with infrastructure and platform teams to ensure seamless model rollout, capacity planning, monitoring, and production reliability. Drive end-to-end release planning, including market positioning, launch strategies, and managing migration paths for existing users, making critical trade-off decisions.

We are looking for a seasoned professional with a minimum of 3 years of experience in building AI/ML products, developer platforms, or APIs, particularly where the underlying model was a key product decision. You should possess a strong working understanding of the entire model lifecycle, including data, training, fine-tuning, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.

Demonstrate sharp analytical skills and a comfort with data-driven decision-making. You should be adept at making sound judgments on trade-offs between quality, latency, and cost, and confident in defending your decisions. Building trust and collaborating effectively with research teams is essential for success in this role.

Bonus points include experience with speech or LLM APIs and their associated metrics, a proven track record of shipping and maintaining public or enterprise-facing APIs, and hands-on experience with SQL, Python, or ML tooling for analysis. Exposure to Indian language AI or multilingual systems is also highly valued.
