Job description

Join Amazon's dynamic team as a Process Engineer II, contributing to the development of our customer-centric e-commerce operations. This role is pivotal in supporting new building expansions and driving business growth within our global Tech – Supply Chain division. You will be instrumental in managing IT infrastructure and end-user equipment, ensuring end-to-end solutions that cover lifecycle management, change control, and material management.

The Process Engineering team focuses on transforming network strategies into executable engineering solutions. We optimize layouts, design scalable workstations, and validate system interactions to enhance device fulfillment, value-added services, and reverse logistics across the RAD network. Our goal is to expand fulfillment capacity while upholding stringent standards for safety, operational efficiency, and service reliability.

Responsibilities

Analyze and optimize fulfillment workflows across device fulfillment, value-added services, and reverse logistics to reduce costs. Leverage lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles, employing tools like value stream mapping and simulation-based capacity analysis for operational excellence. Conduct detailed time-motion studies, workflow analysis, and process mapping to pinpoint and resolve throughput constraints. Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and engineering standards for consistent operational performance. Support the engineering execution of facility expansions and new launches, including feasibility studies, labor models, and ergonomic validation. Contribute to site design and material flow strategies to ensure predictable growth and managed operational risk. Assist in ERP/WMS implementations, validating system and process designs. Integrate quality engineering principles into workflow design using FMEA, control plans, and COPQ analysis. Perform process and product quality audits to identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities. Drive proactive risk identification, root cause analysis, and implement engineering controls to prevent systemic failures. Support the establishment and enhancement of a Quality Management System (QMS) for improved quality outcomes.

Qualifications

We are seeking a Process Engineer based in India to collaborate across multiple teams, enhancing our engineering processes. You will be responsible for designing factory layouts, scalable workstations, and material flow systems, while diagnosing process constraints and identifying improvement opportunities.

This role requires a Bachelor's degree and hands-on experience with Six Sigma and lean manufacturing methodologies. Preferred qualifications include intermediate knowledge of AutoCAD, VBA, and SQL, along with a Bachelor's degree in industrial or manufacturing engineering. Familiarity with automated material handling systems, packaging technologies, and storage solutions is also advantageous.
