As a Principal Software Engineer, you will contribute as an individual contributor (20-40%) while providing technical team leadership. Recognized as a technical expert, you will drive innovation and growth through impactful contributions. You will tackle complex enterprise-wide initiatives across multiple services and programs, collaborating with stakeholders to design and deliver new products and services.

Key responsibilities include articulating complex system architectures to executive and customer stakeholders, analyzing, designing, developing, and delivering software solutions, and defining requirements while adhering to best practices. You will set priorities, drive deliverables within global technology domains, and engage with the broader technical community to anticipate future platform needs. Embracing sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems, you will approach production issues holistically. You will also explain technical challenges and solution strategies to stakeholders, ensuring timely delivery of technical designs and milestones.

We are looking for seasoned professionals with a proven track record in designing and building high-performance, globally scalable platforms. You should have a history of solving complex technical challenges and a passion for collaborative problem-solving on a large scale. While you love hands-on development, you also excel at collaborating with SRE, Performance Engineering, and Infrastructure teams to ensure optimized architectures and code.

This role requires a deep understanding of software critical to financial infrastructure, coupled with an ability to ensure efficient and responsible SDLC and governance processes. Your intelligent and industrious nature will be evident in your leadership style, fostering an inclusive environment from ideation through to production crisis management. A required undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a related STEM field, with experience in software engineering, is essential. A preferred graduate degree in Computer Science or Business, with fintech and payments experience, is highly valued.
