We are dedicated to building a sustainable and inclusive digital economy where everyone can prosper. Our technology and partnerships enable secure, simple, smart, and accessible transactions, empowering individuals, businesses, and governments to reach their full potential. We foster a culture of inclusion, valuing the unique strengths and experiences of all employees to drive innovation and deliver exceptional business results.
As a Principal Software Engineer, you will contribute significantly as an individual technical leader, driving innovation and organizational growth. A substantial portion of your time will be hands-on coding, focusing on non-feature development, writing interfaces, tests, and architecture fitness functions. You will implement and maintain compliance and security within CI/CD pipelines, embracing the principle of 'Code is Design, Design is Code'.
Your expertise will be crucial in domain-driven design, enforcing contextual mappings and aggregates for bounded contexts, and driving consumer-driven contracts for rapid domain model evolution. You will lead complex enterprise-wide initiatives, architect and deliver new services, and actively participate in agile processes. This role involves driving architectural design, improving customer experience for product suites, and leading Guild initiatives to mentor engineers and enhance software craftsmanship. You will also simplify and optimize service costs and architectures, consult across teams for synergies, and contribute to principal review architecture meetings to resolve enterprise challenges.
We are seeking an experienced professional with demonstrable expertise in designing and building high-performance, scalable platforms handling high transaction volumes. A strong understanding of design patterns, principles, and infrastructural elements (both hardware and software) is essential.
You should possess proven design and development experience in multiple languages, including Java, .NET, JavaScript, and SQL, along with a solid grasp of secure coding standards like OWASP, CWE, and SEI CERT, and vulnerability management. An expert understanding of DevOps best practices, CI/CD concepts, and capabilities for automation, pipelines, virtualization, and containerization is required. Experience in implementing advanced test setups in production, such as A/B testing, canary releases, blue-green deployments, and feature flags, is also necessary.
This role demands skills in developing and evangelizing reference architectures, promoting end-to-end service ownership, and fostering collaboration across the technology organization to promote standard software patterns and reuse. Experience in leading and coaching teams in software planning and estimation for large-scale programs, driving trade-off discussions, and executing automation across business areas is expected. You must be adept at articulating complex system architectures to executive stakeholders and defining advanced chaos and operational testing practices. Familiarity with agile and modern SDLC practices, including Scrum, Kanban, Continuous Delivery, DevOps, and Quality Engineering, is fundamental.
