We are looking for a seasoned engineer to provide hands-on technical leadership and execution for our RTP products and platform capabilities. This is a senior individual contributor position where you will own the design and implementation of complex systems, staying close to the code on critical areas and leading by technical example.

As a Principal Software Engineer, you will own the architecture and detailed design for RTP products and platform capabilities, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards. You will design, build, and maintain high-quality software components, making well-reasoned technology trade-offs to balance delivery speed with long-term maintainability. Key responsibilities include translating requirements into robust technical implementations, ensuring solutions adhere to best practices, and remaining hands-on for critical components and complex problem areas.

You will also drive non-functional excellence, designing solutions that meet stringent performance, scalability, reliability, and security requirements. This involves defining and enforcing measurable non-functional requirements, ensuring production readiness through strong observability, and proactively mitigating risks. Additionally, you'll promote cross-market consistency, prevent architectural drift, and contribute to the technology roadmap, including technical debt reduction.

We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer with over 10 years of experience in software engineering, specifically designing and building large-scale distributed systems. Proven experience owning architecture and design for complex, business-critical platforms is essential. You should possess strong hands-on expertise in microservices and event-driven architectures, with a deep understanding of performance engineering, scalability patterns, resilience design, and failure handling.

Solid experience with observability, production diagnostics, and operational readiness is required. A strong background in enterprise backend development using Java/Spring is a must, along with familiarity with functional programming languages. Experience with cloud and containerized environments is crucial. While payments or financial services experience is a strong plus, demonstrated ability to influence without authority, operate effectively in ambiguity, and communicate complex concepts clearly are equally important.
