We are looking for a Principal Engineer to join our Payments Network Technology team in Pune. This pivotal role focuses on providing technical and delivery leadership for payment-network initiatives. You will bridge architecture, release coordination, dependency management, and engineering execution across multiple teams, ensuring seamless delivery of complex projects.

As a Principal Engineer, you will define and advance the architecture for secure, scalable, and highly available payment-network services, primarily using Java. You will coordinate technical delivery across various teams, managing releases, dependencies, defect resolution, and cross-cutting issues. Partnering with product and engineering leaders, you'll translate business needs into architectural and implementation strategies. Your role includes leading design reviews, driving decisions on APIs, service interactions, data, resiliency, security, and operational readiness, while identifying reuse opportunities and promoting common engineering patterns. Mentoring engineers and technical leads, and communicating architecture trade-offs and risks to senior stakeholders will be key aspects of this position.

We seek extensive software architecture and hands-on Java development experience within large-scale systems. A deep understanding of Java, Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, messaging, event-driven architecture (especially Kafka), SQL/NoSQL databases, and cloud-native platforms is essential. Experience with secure engineering, DevOps, performance, resiliency, observability, and production-readiness practices is required. You should possess the ability to lead through influence across organizational boundaries and have a Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience. Experience in Agile delivery environments, strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills are also necessary.
