Join our Real Time Payments (RTP) Platform, Tooling & Engineering Enablement team as a senior technical contributor. We are dedicated to uplifting engineering practices across RTP, acting as a catalyst for program-wide advancements. Our focus is on aligning RTP with Mastercard's high standards, pushing boundaries in platform development, CI/CD, and governance, all while enhancing the developer experience and driving AI enablement.

You will leverage your deep subject matter expertise to tackle complex and open-ended challenges within the RTP program. This role involves extensive collaboration with numerous teams across RTP Engineering, offering you autonomy in managing your time and output.

Drive substantial improvements in how RTP builds, tests, and ships software through expert knowledge. Architect secure, resilient, and scalable solutions, ensuring clear and documented designs. Tackle ambiguous problems by analyzing data, identifying inefficiencies, and formulating actionable recommendations. Proactively identify opportunities to enhance RTP operations using approved technologies.

Spearhead practical AI adoption within RTP Engineering teams using designated tools. Reinforce standards and governance by promoting adoption, conducting audits, and transforming identified gaps into owned actions or roadmap items. Support broader program teams, customers, and initiatives. Effectively communicate complex technical subjects to leadership. Coach and mentor engineers across diverse, cross-functional teams.

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience is required.

We seek extensive experience in software engineering and architecture, with Java being highly desirable. Proficiency in platform engineering and cloud technologies is essential, alongside a strong background in CI/CD practices. Demonstrated technical leadership in resolving complex issues is crucial.

Experience utilizing AI tools in daily engineering tasks, such as AI coding assistants, and driving their adoption is expected. You should have a proven track record of embedding engineering standards, including secure coding and testing methodologies. Experience in preparing and delivering executive-level presentations to both business and technology audiences is necessary.

We value experience in mentoring and developing engineers within high-performance environments. The ability to influence teams without direct authority is important. Familiarity with the payments industry or experience in regulated environments is a significant advantage. Adherence to corporate security responsibilities, including information security policies and practices, is mandatory.
