As a Principal Software Engineer on the Data Distribution & Analytics team, you will architect and build high-performance API interfaces for accessing transaction datasets. Your responsibilities include hands-on development of high-quality, secure, modular, and testable code. You will define technical roadmaps, guide development teams, and lead system development and maintenance to meet stringent SLAs.
You will champion innovation, cost-effectiveness, and speed to market. Taking ownership of your team's software, you'll maintain deep knowledge of its characteristics and dependencies. Troubleshooting customer-reported issues, proposing solutions aligned with business and architectural requirements, and conducting technical interviews to elevate engineering talent are key aspects of this role. Coaching technical resources and fostering effective global collaboration are also vital.
We are seeking a seasoned professional with extensive experience in architecture, design, and implementation of microservices and scalable distributed systems, with a strong focus on API-based platforms. Expert programming skills in Java, including micro-service development and unit testing, are essential.
Proficiency is required with technologies such as Spring Cloud, Spring Boot, and Tomcat. You should be skilled in both SQL and NoSQL persistence, including PostgreSQL, Oracle, and MongoDB. Experience with software development test approaches like ATDD/BDD, Cucumber, and Spock is expected. Familiarity with cloud hosting technologies like PCF and Azure, alongside CI/CD principles and tools such as Maven, Jenkins, and Chef, is crucial.
Demonstrated expertise in identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks, along with excellent communication, collaboration, leadership, and initiative are highly valued. A motivated individual keen on cultivating a high-performance team environment will thrive in this position. A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience is required.
