We are expanding our Services organization and seeking a Principal Forward Deployed Engineer to drive accelerated delivery. This unique role embeds you within Services programs as an internal partner, writing production code, resolving delivery blockers, and leveraging AI to enhance our development processes. You will report to the SVP of Developer Enablement within the Services Enablement & Transformation (SET) organization, moving to where the need is greatest to provide senior engineering expertise during critical periods, expedite roadmaps, and promote AI-first development practices.

As a Principal Forward Deployed Engineer, you will be a senior individual contributor embedded within Services teams to deliver robust software and lasting capabilities. Your engagements will be dynamic, ranging from short-term feature shipping or bottleneck resolution to longer-term capability development. In every instance, you will write production code, collaborate with team engineers, integrate AI into their build processes, and ensure teams are more capable upon your departure. You will also design and deploy production-grade AI solutions, applying modern AI engineering practices, and mature AI adoption across the software development lifecycle, including AI-assisted coding, testing, and code review. Furthermore, you'll evaluate emerging AI capabilities, coach teams on AI-first methodologies, and transfer knowledge to foster self-sufficiency, ultimately leaving behind reusable AI patterns and reference implementations.

We are looking for a seasoned, hands-on engineer with a passion for variety, rapid execution, and outcome-driven success. Essential qualifications include extensive hands-on software engineering experience at a Principal or Senior Principal Engineer level, with a proven ability to ship complex, production-grade systems. You should possess advanced experience in containerization and orchestration architectures (Docker, Kubernetes, Service Meshes) across hyper-scale cloud environments. Deep, current expertise in building with AI and Agentic solutions, including LLMs, agent frameworks, RAG, and orchestration patterns, is crucial. Exceptional technical breadth, fluency in modern development practices like CI/CD and cloud-native architecture, and practical command of AI across the SDLC are also required. A grasp of responsible AI, governance, and production monitoring, coupled with strong communication, influencing, and ambiguity-handling skills, will set you apart. Experience with tools like GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Copilot Studio, or Azure AI is preferred.
