Lead the Planner engineering team within Microsoft's TEX organization, driving AI-powered task management and collaboration solutions. You will shape the future of products like Planner and Visio, with deep integrations across Microsoft Teams, Loop, and Purview. This role is pivotal in delivering AI-native productivity experiences and maintaining the highest standards of reliability and security.
As a key leader, you will influence technical direction, people development, and operational excellence across a globally impactful engineering organization. The position involves managing a team of over 100 engineers and leading the engineering roadmap for Planner in India, collaborating closely with senior leadership in Redmond on architecture and execution for mission-critical services.

Drive the engineering strategy and product vision for AI-powered project management and collaboration tools in partnership with product, design, and stakeholders. Own the technical roadmap and system architecture, ensuring scalability, resilience, and cost efficiency for enterprise-level services.
Cultivate a culture of engineering excellence by establishing best practices for secure, high-quality code, including rigorous design and code reviews. Implement effective planning and execution rhythms for predictable delivery and successful global product launches.
Champion CI/CD automation, telemetry, and observability for seamless deployments and robust live-site health. Define strategies for security hardening, privacy, accessibility, and AI safety. Balance immediate operational needs with long-term platform investments and drive a culture of proactive monitoring and automated mitigation.
Build and mentor high-performing engineering leaders and teams through coaching and career development. Foster an inclusive and innovative organization that collaborates effectively across geographies and engages with senior leadership to shape global outcomes.
A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, combined with at least 8 years of technical engineering experience, including coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, is required. Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
Candidates must be able to meet specific security screening requirements, including a Microsoft Cloud Background Check, which is mandatory upon hire and renewable every two years.
Preferred qualifications include a Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field with 12+ years of experience, or a Bachelor's Degree with 15+ years of experience. Experience managing engineering teams or complex technical programs for over 8 years, including 4+ years managing managers, is highly valued. A strong foundation in distributed systems, cloud service design, and operating highly available cloud services on platforms like Azure, AWS, or GCP is essential. Experience integrating AI/GenAI capabilities into products at scale is a significant plus.
